The research and design of 5 000 t submarine cable-laying vessel "Qifan No.9" are introduced, including the operating characteristics and the design ideas for key technologies such as ship type optimization, hull structure, submarine cable operating system, positioning system, etc. during the design of large submarine cable-laying vessel. New solutions for submarine cable laying and maintenance operations under large flow conditions are proposed.
